It also supports 4:2:2 10-bit recording, with up to 2 hours of video at 29.97 fps. The DIGIC X processor enables up to 40 fps continuous shooting and pre-shooting mode, allowing image capture 0.5 seconds before pressing the shutter.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II

Featuring 1053 autofocus points that cover the entire sensor, the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system delivers fast and precise autofocus. It automatically detects and tracks subjects, such as people, animals, and vehicles, maintaining sharp focus throughout shooting and video capture. The autofocus system performs even in low-light conditions down to -6.5 EV.

HDR PQ and Canon Log 3

The EOS R8 records high-quality video right out of the camera, with options for HDR PQ or Canon Log 3 recording. HDR PQ captures 10-bit color files that require no additional editing and are compatible with HDR displays, such as TVs and smartphones, offering superior color accuracy and dynamic range. For advanced video editing, Canon Log 3 allows 10-bit log files to capture extensive highlight and shadow detail, perfect for creative color grading.

Vertical Movie Mode and Aspect Markers
