Leica 8x56 Geovid HD-B Rangefinder Binocular is an effective combination of optics and electronics. Its large objective lenses combined with a 2000-yard rangefinder and integrated ballistic computer delivers exceptional results!
The Leica 8x56 Geovid HD-B Rangefinder Binoculars have a series of in-built sensors to detect various environmental parameters and the user's angle. The Advanced Ballistic Compensation (ABC) technology combines diverse data, like atmospheric temperature and pressure, user-defined ballistic path, and rangefinder information to reduce errors and provide the maximum precision. The lenses are multicoated so that it allows a clear light path and deliver true colors.
Our Take on Leica 8x56 Geovid HD-B Rangefinder Binocular:
The information gathered from the different sensors and the laser rangefinder in the Leica 8x56 Geovid HD-B unit helps guide the user to position the shot accurately. The device is already loaded with 12 pre-defined ballistic curves corresponding to various weights and calibers. Users can define and download additional paths from the Leica website and load them using a micro SD card. There is an in-view LED display of 4 digits that allows the user to view the values while at the same time focusing on the object. The rangefinder has a single measurement mode and a scan mode. The former applies to a stationary object, while the latter is for a subject in motion. An integrated inclinometer calculates equivalent horizontal distance when the user is on a slope.
The optics of the Leica 8x56 Geovid HD-B Rangefinder Binocular has many protective and quality enhancement features. The Perger Porro prism assembly is at the roof and provides a streamlined form factor, which is further enhanced with the Porro design. The design features make it possible without losing any color fidelity or depth of field. The AquaDura and High Durable (HDC) coatings on the lenses prevent water or other liquids from sticking on to them and protect them from dirt, thereby providing maximum light transmission. It thus avoids reflection to give better brightness to the image and also improves the view's color and contrast.
The Leica 8x56 Geovid HD-B Rangefinder Binoculars unit is perfectly suitable for harsh weather and low-light conditions and enables viewing targets up to a 2000-yard distance. The magnesium housing is filled with nitrogen gas to avoid any fog effect. The configuration of a dual-bridge and a center-focus wheel located at the rear gives a better balance to the scopes in the user's hands. The optics housing has eye-cups that twists up and 18 mm eye relief for comfortable use by any user. The unit works with two buttons and has an automatic brightness adjusting display.
