Our Take on the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Nikon:
One specialty of the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 MACRO Lens is that it employs eight special lens elements for correcting chromatic and spherical aberrations and distortions, and also to reduce the size of the lens and make the entire unit compact. The aspherical elements help in reducing the spherical aberrations and minimize image distortions. The two low-dispersion elements bring down color fringing and any chromatic aberrations. Then there is also one Extra-refractive (XR) and Ultra Extra-Refractive (UXR) element each to reduce the overall size of the lens and make the zoom unit compact. The lens elements also have a high-quality coating to suppress flares and ghosting.
The autofocus mechanism of the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 MACRO Lens has a piezo drive at its core that enables the fast and quiet operation of a standing-wave ultrasonic motor. It helps in achieving the desired focus swiftly and obtain sharp and clear images. Besides autofocus, it also allows full-time manual focusing capability too. The camera shake effects that can occur at longer focal lengths or slow shutter speeds will be compensated by the image stabilization featuring Vibration Compensation. So you don't need to have a concern about getting blurry images.
The entire assembly of the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 MACRO Lens is made up of 16 elements in 12 groups. The diaphragm is made up of seven blades.
